A Journey of Integration, Resilience, and Transformation.
I was born in Mozambique and raised in Portugal. At the age of 14, I discovered athletics, quickly rising to become a successful competitive athlete. That discipline stayed with me as my journey took me across borders.
I arrived in the Netherlands at age 22, following a year spent as an au-pair in London. Today, at 58, I look back on a journey defined by one word: Transformation.
I began my Dutch career in the high-pressure world of technical healthcare as a Radiotherapeutic Technician at Erasmus MC. While I excelled technically, I felt a calling to understand the inner workings of people — society — and connect more deeply with people.
Despite the initial language barrier and the "limiting beliefs" that often weigh on expats, I took a leap of faith. I returned to college, mastered the Dutch language at a high professional level, and transitioned into Social Work.
Today, I lead a team of ten Dutch professionals at a non-profit organization within a governmental institution. This unique blend of "boots-on-the-ground" experience and high-level leadership allows me to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. With my large network inside Dutch and expat communities I can connect you fast and effectively with the right person at the right environment.
"Most people tell me they love my energy — but more importantly, they feel empowered to take immediate action after we talk."
— Adélia SaúdeI know what it feels like to have no one to empower you or explain the "unwritten rules" of Dutch culture. I know the grit it takes to keep improving your language skills, even when people might laugh because your pronunciation is different. I know how it feels being the only one different in a room.
Turn your transition into your greatest strength.
In the northwest-central heart of Mozambique, the sun does not merely shine; it commands. It is a land of vast, open horizons where the air is hot and the earth is dry. To the casual observer, this may seem a harsh landscape, but to those who know its secrets, it is a place of hidden treasure.
My roots are planted in a soil that tests everything it grows. Only the strongest things survive here, and the most beautiful things are often hidden beneath the surface.
Emerging from this heat is a matrilineal line of extraordinary power. Before me stood four women — four "golden women" — who carried the fire of their spirit through every hardship. They were born of this earth, molded by its challenges, and refined by its intensity. I'm the fifth, the guardian of their story, carrying their light into a new era.
Standing as silent witnesses to this lineage are the Baobabs. These centenary giants are the undisputed masters of resilience. While the world around them parches, the Baobab stores millions of liters of life-sustaining water within its ancient trunk.
Like the Baobab, my ancestors didn't look to the sky for survival; they carried their own wells within them. They were the source of their own refreshment, turning internal strength into a sanctuary for others.
Deep beneath the roots of these trees lies the second-largest gold deposit in the country. This is the literal "Gold" of my home. In my work, I seek the gold in every woman so that they can admire it within themselves again.
Gold in Balance is a vow to honor the four women who walked before me and stand as a Baobab for those who come after.
A glimpse into the journey — moments of coaching, connection, and transformation.
